The talented and generous recipient this year was Carol Firenze. Carol, a brilliant author and crusader for extra virgin olive oil received the award for her devotion and support of the COOC for two decades. Not only did Carol actively serve on the board for several years, but she volunteered her time on a myriad of projects including chair of the auction committee, strategic planning and educational outreach. Her book, The Passionate Olive his now in its fifteenth printing and has also been translated into Chinese and Turkish.
A member of the University of Santa Clara’s first class of women, Carol went on to receive both her masters and PhD in education. Over her extensive career as an executive consultant and communications strategist, Carol has lived in both London and Saudi Arabia. A sought-after speaker, Carol’s favorite topic is extra virgin olive oil.
