Spend a blissful time this fall in an ancient Umbrian olive grove; experience the true Italian lifestyle – the meals, the wine, the olive oil, the art, the people. Our 2010 and 2011 Olive Harvest Adventures were so successful, we are offering it again.
The goal of the Umbrian Olive Harvest Adventure is to provide guests with a unique experience. Fall is an engaging, but less-traveled season. And, while Fall is filled with numerous festivals from truffles to olive oil to wine to pecorino cheese, you can truly embrace the Umbrian lifestyle, without a throng of tourists.
Highlights of the Olive Harvest Adventure include:
- Seven nights at Villa Gioianna; private beautifully-appointed room with bath near Castiglione del Lago, Umbria
- All Breakfasts and Dinners – five meals homemade by the Villa’s fabulous chef or at restaurants with wine and two at local restaurants (meal included, wine separate)
- ½-1 day of olive harvesting (or more if you’d like)
- Visit to a frantoio (olive mill) to watch your harvest in action
- A 500 ml bottle of olive oil (from the olives you harvested)
- Visit Deruta, Assisi, Cortona, Castiglione del Lago, San Casciano dei Bagni
- Pasta and Tiramisu cooking lessons with the Villa’s chef
- Lunch with celebrity chef Anna Mosesson
- Dinner at the villa with expats to give the flavor for living in Umbria
- Wine tasting and lunch at a picturesque Umbrian winery
- Discover the exclusive Eco-Tour at a spectacular estate and taste award-wining wine and bruschetta, seasoned with frozen olive oil
- Attend a local festival featuring chestnuts, olive oil, or truffles
- Olive oil tasting seminar with Carol Firenze and/or Pasquale Aiello
- Visit a local market, organic olive farm and natural spa
- Transportation for the week in a private van
- Gratuities for villa staff, van driver and tour guides
- Concierge services to help you coordinate your transportation to and from the villa and suggestions if you want to stay on in Umbria.

The price is $2,950 per person double occupancy. A single supplement is $300.00. This is land only; air travel is not included and transfers to and from the Villa are not included (but we can help arrange them).
There are 8 bedrooms at Villa Gioianna; 6 queen bedrooms and two twin rooms. Each bedroom has a private bath. The Villa can accommodate between 7 -14 guests depending requested single and double rooms. Payment:
In order to reserve a space, please forward a non-refundable deposit of $500 by May 15. The balance of the cost of the trip is due no later than August 15. Personal check is preferred, but payment may be made by credit card for a 4% processing fee.
